The theme for this month is Beliefs. I have recently discovered “This I Believe” on National Public Radio. Over the next month, I will be revising my list of “this I believe” into essays which I will submit. Whether you take the time to read the essays on the website or write your own list or essay, you can find great value in looking more closely at beliefs. Our beliefs create our reality. Getting clear about what you believe brings clarity about what you are creating in your life.

This I believe…

That people are good, really good and when they don’t act like it, it’s because they don’t know how to do any better AND they can change and grow.

That we can all change and grow and one way to accelerate this change is to do it in partnership and community.

That we are each here for a purpose…a special, unique calling that is just the right blend of our talents, gifts, and a need in the world.

That plants and animals are living beings as well and the more respect and love we show them, the more in harmony we will all be able to live on this planet.

That the Earth is a gift not to be taken for granted. That our planet needs our love and care. That any and all efforts taken on behalf of our beautiful planet make a difference.

That each of us makes a difference. We all have impact. It is up to us to be intentional and responsible for our piece and our effect on others.

That hiking through the Enchanted Acres of Big Creek (my home) with my dog, Strider, brings heaven to earth…and is a form of prayer and meditation for me.

That there are many paths to the “center” and it is not for us to judge one another’s choices, but to make the best ones we can make for ourselves and encourage and support others to do the same.

That our beliefs really do create our reality and often the “answer” is as simple as looking at something in a different way. So, it is important to be intentional about how we think of things, people, ourselves…for repetitive thoughts are manifested in the life we are co-creating with the Universe.

That children have a special connection to divinity until they “unlearn it”. That it is our responsibility to provide a safe space for them to hold to their connection with the sacred and what might appear as their “own little world” for as long as it serves them AND to teach and encourage them to live with joy in the world we share as well.

That if mothers ruled the world; we would see a dramatic decrease in poverty, homelessness, violence, crime, and addiction.

That it is possible for each of us to adopt a “mother perspective” on world affairs…everyone is someone’s child or parent or friend. We all matter. Life is precious.

Powerful Questions of the Month:

What do I believe?

How have these beliefs shaped who I am?

What beliefs might serve me best in the month to come?

Quote of the Month:

Do what you believe in and believe in what you do. All else is a waste of time. –Nisargattata

Challenge of the Month:

Write out a list of your beliefs. Next to each one, rank how well you honor this belief in your daily life with 1 being low and 10 being high. Challenge yourself to increase your scores each week for 4 weeks.

For those who believe that they or any unlimiting beliefs they have are the only things in the way of who they want to be and what kind of life they want to live, contact me at sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com to set up a complimentary coaching session.

The theme for this month is Risk. Our relationship to Risk sets the tone for a lot of decisions in our lives. Whether we embrace taking risks or we shy away from them can be a huge determinant of the kind of life we live. Many times, we say, “that’s just the way I am…I don’t take risks” or “that’s just the way I am…I like to take risks”. This August, let’s look a little closer at our relationship with Risk.

Book of the Month:

“Bold Moves: Jump to Outstanding Self-Managed Action:
~ Allan Milham and Shayla Roberts
This is an amazing book about personal and professional leadership! Clear steps and wisdom to create the life that is calling to you to be lived fully.

I recommended this same book last month. Last month, I encouraged reading it from a place of declaring your personal independence (which for many of us takes embracing a certain amount of risk). This month, I encourage reading it with the perspective that this book could change your life.

Powerful Questions of the Month:

What have I been unwilling to risk in my life so far? What kind of relationship with Risk do I admire in others? What would it take for me to adopt this relationship for the next month? What might I gain by stepping into this view of Risk? Who would champion me?

Quotes of the Month:

“Take risks: if you win, you will be happy; if you lose, you will be wise.”
~Author Unknown

“If you don’t risk anything, you risk even more.”
~Erica Jong

Challenge of the Month:

Make a list of all the things you want to be, do, and have. Then, rank them in order of riskiness. Choose 1/day or 1/week that matches your level or riskiness in that moment and manifest it.

For those wanting to risk a complimentary coaching session…you might like it so much, you’ll want to hire me…call 906-249-2195.

This month, declare your own personal independence. Go ahead. Declare it aloud. Shout it. Write your own declaration of independence. List your own Bill of Rights. Celebrate personal freedom…freedom to make your own choices, live your own life, honor your own values, and co-create with the Universe.

Book of the Month:
“Bold Moves: Jump to Outstanding Self-Managed Action"
~ Allan Milham and Shayla Roberts
This is an amazing book about personal and professional leadership! Clear steps and wisdom to create the life that is calling to you to be lived fully.

Powerful Questions of the Month:

Now that I’m declaring my independence of all that was holding me back, what am I free to explore, pursue, and contemplate?

Quotes of the Month:

“When we are really honest with ourselves we must admit our lives are all that really belong to us. So it is how we use our lives that determines the kind of men we are.”
~Cesar Chavez

Challenge of the Month:

Begin to notice and keep track of all the longings in your heart and soul…all those things that were held back, waiting for you to declare your personal independence. Which ones are calling to you with the strongest voices? Which ones are in danger of being drowned out completely? Deliberately choose to follow one personal longing each day and keep track of the consequences of these choices.

For those wanting to challenge themselves even more, call me at 906-249-2195 to set up a “calling forth” appointment!

This month, we celebrate Fathers and Summer Solstice (the longest day and shortest night of the year). We celebrate the men who loved our mothers and those who raised us. For some of us, this is the same person. For others of us, there have been several key men in our lives. This month, especially on Father’s Day, we celebrate the men who supported us in our childhood and those who lovingly encourage and stand by us today as well. On a personal note, I honor my adoptive father, Russ Dean, who raised me from 9 months on and taught me how to play backgammon, drive the riding lawn mower, and play piano duets among many other things.

Book of the Month:

The Tao of Pooh and The Te of Piglet
by Benjamin Hoff and E.H. Shepard

Quotes of the Month:

I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection.
~Sigmund Freud

Any man can be a father. It takes someone special to be a dad.
~Author Unknown

It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us fathers and sons.
~Johann Schiller

Powerful Question of the Month:

How will I father myself today?
How will I show appreciation for those who have fathered me?
How do I honor the sun energy in my life?

Challenge of the Month:

Each day, consciously choose to be a “father” to someone in some way. Support and encourage the dreams of others. Teach someone a skill you have mastered. Make a financial contribution to something you believe in.

I realize that I have portrayed fathers and mothers (from my May blog) in a very stereotypical way. This reflects my upbringing. I ask that you look at the archetypes of mother and father that reside in you as well as the actual individuals.

Complimentary Coaching is open to existing and potential clients. sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com for available appointment times 

This month, we celebrate Mothers. We celebrate the women who gave us birth and those who raised us. For some of us, this is the same person. For others of us, there have been several key women in our lives. This month, especially on Mother’s Day, we celebrate the women who nurtured us in our childhood and those who lovingly support us today as well. On a personal note, I honor my birth mother whose name I do not know. I honor my adoptive mother, Nancy Dean, who raised me, loved me, and taught me many of the skills and arts that make me successful today. I love you, Mom!

Book of the Month:

The Mother Dance: How Children Change Your Life by Harriet Lerner

Quotes of the Month:

“Mother love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible”
~Marion Garretty

“Mother is the name for God in the lips and hearts of little children”
~William Makepeace Thackeray

“A mother understands what a child does not say”
~Jewish Proverb

Powerful Question of the Month:

How will I mother myself today?
How will I show appreciation for those who have mothered me?

Challenge of the Month:

Each day, consciously choose to be a “mother” to someone in some way. Share loving words of encouragement. Read a bedtime story (doesn’t have to be to a child). Create something special. Kiss a boo boo. Listen to someone share about his or her day.

Complimentary Coaching is open to existing and potential clients. sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com for available appointment times 

April showers bring May flowers. This month, I invite you to explore the element of water. Fluid, conductor, shaping and allowing itself to be shaped, gentle and strong, transparent and murky, nourishing and deadly… You might want to make a list of all the qualities of water, all the uses it has, and all the impacts it has on our lives.

Book of the Month:

The Hidden Messages in Water by Dr. Masaru Emoto

Powerful Question of the Month:

What qualities of water do I share?
What qualities of water do I want?

Challenge of the Month:

Drink 64 ounces of pure drinking water each day. Label the container you drink from with words like love, prosperity, abundance, well-being, creativity, aliveness, and so forth.

Complimentary Coaching is open to existing and potential clients. sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com for available appointment times.

Hello! Spring is a time for rebirth, growth, blossoming, opening, and possibility! What are you choosing to open to this month? Where are you noticing growth? When do you give yourself permission to explore the land of possibility?

Book of the Month:

The Anatomy of Peace by the Arbinger Institute

This is a book that could open you to all sorts of possibilities in your relationships with others and your relationship to yourself. It is about taking personal responsibility for your life.

Powerful Question of the Month:

What is possible?

Quote of the Month:
I am only one, but I AM ONE…
I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
And what I can do, that I ought to do:
And what I ought to do,
By the grace of God, I will do.

I will do more than belong~I will participate.
I will do more than care~I will help.
I will do more than believe~I will practice.
I will do more than be fair~I will be kind.
I will do more than dream~I will work.
I will do more than teach~I will inspire.
I will do more than give~I will serve.
I will do more than live~I will grow.
I will do more than talk~I will act.

Challenge of the Month:

Find 5 possibilities in each day…look especially for the areas where you might have had a tendency in the past to say, “that can’t be…it’s not possible.” Say out loud, “it’s possible” AND believe it!!

Complimentary Coaching on possibilities is open to existing and potential clients. sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com for possible appointment times.

Hope you have a month of possibility!

Tuesday, January 30, 2007

Hello! How’s your year going so far? We’re already 1/12th of the way into 2007. Today, I invite you to explore the arena of LOVE. This is the month when we celebrate Valentine’s Day. What is there to love in your life? Where will you allow yourself to receive more love? Where do you need encouragement to give more love? Love includes connection to Divine Source, ourselves, and others. Where are you most comfortable giving and receiving love? Where could you challenge yourself to grow?

On a personal note, I have adopted a puppy from the Humane Society! I am noticing the abundance of enthusiastic, loving energy that this special fellow has brought to my home. I have also decided to homeschool my son again. This, too, has brought even more love to our sweet, little family. What choice can you make or have you recently made that brings love into your home?

Book of the Month:

A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson
This book talks about every situation, every person, each moment being either love or a call for/to love.

Powerful Question of the Month:

“If I embraced the belief that in every moment there is either love available or love needed, how would I show up differently in the world?”

Quote of the Month:

The joy we seek lies less in something new happening and more in our opening our hearts more fully to the love in our lives already. Only love can make us happy, and only we ourselves can determine its presence or absence inside our hearts. To acknowledge love is to increase its capacity to heal us; to ignore love is to let it slip away.
~ Marianne Williamson; Illuminata

Challenge of the Month:

Try on the belief/perspective above about each moment being either about love or a call for love. Stay attentive throughout your day. Who is in need of my love? Who is offering love? Allow the natural exchange of the energy of love to flow freely through your days and life.

Gift of Love:

This month, complimentary sessions are available to all current and prospective clients. Send me an e-mail at sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com to set up an appointment. I look forward to spending time with you!

Welcome to 2007!

A new beginning. A fresh start. What will 2007 bring you? What will you bring to 2007? Many of us create resolutions to start off the new year with our highest intentions. This year, I invite you to create a theme for the year…something you can carry with you each month, week, day, and moment. It might be the year of Health and Well-Being for you. That might include making physical fitness, nutritious eating, and self-care a priority. It might be the year of Saying YES for you. This might include accepting invitations of all kind: social, business, recreational, and others. This is YOUR life! This is YOUR year. Claim it and Name it.

Book of the Month:

Leadership and Self Deception by the Arbinger Institute

Powerful Question of the Month:

Who am I when I am at my best?

Quote of the Month:

There is only one power in the Universe,
And that is the power of decision.
All else follows.
~ Ralph Blum; The Book of Runes

Challenge of the Month:

Create your theme for the year and begin living it today! Ask yourself powerful questions like, if I completely embodied this theme, how would my life be different? What might change in my closest relationships? How would I behave differently at work? What might be possible for me?

January 11th is complimentary coaching call-in day

Coaching is a great way to receive the support and accountability you need to honor your resolutions and begin creating your theme. Call 906-249-2195 or e-mail me at sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com subject: comp session. Let me know that you visited my blog.

Wednesday, November 22, 2006

As the last month in the calendar year, December will close out 2006. Looking back, what do you remember about this year? What were the highlights? What were the struggles? As you scan previous postings from this blog, I invite you to take stock of your year. Re-examine some of the powerful questions. Soak up the quotes and poems that speak to your heart. Jot down any books that interested you but you didn’t get to yet. I can imagine that with the usual hustle and bustle of the season, you might not find time to pause and reflect. I encourage you to set aside a 2-hour block of time for this very purpose! By deliberately taking time to reflect on the past year, you are then able to consciously create your new year. What do you want to carry over into 2007? What needs completion by December 31, 2006? What might you want to focus on next year?

As a special year-end bonus, I am offering all assessments from this past year and 30 minute complimentary coaching sessions for new and current clients through the end of the year. Send an e-mail to sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com with the name of the assessment you’d like as the subject. Call 906-249-2195 or e-mail me at the address above to reserve your 30-minute time slot.

May you fully experience all the ways in which you have been blessed this year and consciously create your intentions for the New Year.

Many Blessings,
Sarah Dean

November is the month of Thanksgiving. Whether or not you celebrate this United States holiday in a traditional sense, you can choose to take a day to give thanks for all you have received, created, and appreciate in your life. Today, I give thanks for my wonderful little family, my amazing friends, the beautiful land I call home, a calling to life coaching, a connection with spirit, terrific coaching clients, the opportunity to write for a quarterly publication, all the wonderful synchronicities and synergistic relationships, and for the power of love. What are you choosing to give Thanks for this month?

Book of the Month:

Simple Abundance by Sarah Ban Breathnach is a book of 366 daily meditations. It changed my life almost 9 years ago. I encourage you to find a copy now and begin to browse through it. If you are compelled to follow its path in 2007, expect your life to be transformed in a simply abundant way!

Powerful Question of the Month:

What are you thankful for? How do you show your appreciation?

Quote of the Month:

“Gratitude is the memory of the heart”
by JB Massieu

Challenge of the Month:

Every day in November, find at least one way to show your appreciation. Perhaps it is saying thank you to the person who held the door open for you. Perhaps it is sending a thank you note for a gift you’ve received. Maybe you cook a meal for the person who does most of the cooking in your life. Make each day a glorious adventure of finding ways to give thanks and show appreciation…if you look for them, chances are, you’ll feel as though your life is overflowing with reasons to be grateful.

Resource of the Month:

“Abundance Of” Coach U program. Send an e-mail to sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com with “Abundance Of” as the subject and I will send you this program along with a complimentary 30 minute coaching on your discoveries.

November 10, 2006 is Complimentary Call-In Day. Call 906-249-2195 or e-mail sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com with Comp Session as the subject ASAP to reserve your 30 minute time slot. Complimentary Coaching on this day is open to existing and potential clients.

Saturday, September 30, 2006

October is the month of carving pumpkins, hot apple cider, hayrides, and Halloween festivities. It is the month of Harvest Celebrations. What is ready to be harvested in your life? What’s a little spooky right now? What skeletons are lurking in your closet?

Book of the Month:

Pronoia by Rob Brezsny is a book based on the theory that the whole world is conspiring to shower you with blessings…it is the “antidote for paranoia”.

Powerful Question of the Month:

What blessings has the world showered on you that are ready to be harvested?

Quote of the Month:

What you find in your mind is what you put there.
Put good things in there.
–Mary Ford

Challenge of the Month:

Discovery the ways in which the world is already showering you with blessings! Notice all the goodness, love, and beauty already present in your life. Focusing on what you love, what you want, and what you are grateful for has a magical way (Law of Attraction) of creating more of what you love, want, and are grateful for.

Resource of the Month:

Every night before going to bed, write down 5 things you are grateful for about this day. If you’re having a difficult time, think about the basics…food, clothing, shelter, water, ability to smile, ability to walk, etc. Keep a Gratitude Journal for the entire month of October.

October 9, 2006 is Complimentary Call-In Day. Call 906-249-2195 or e-mail sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com ASAP to reserve your 30 minute time slot. Complimentary Coaching on this day is open to existing and potential clients.

Saturday, August 26, 2006

Welcome to September! It’s back to school month. The nights are cooler. The leaves are just beginning to change. The summer is at an end. We’re still eating from our garden AND the apples are getting ripe. We’ll celebrate the Autumnal Equinox later this month…a time of equal light and dark, day and night. Where are you seeking equality and balance in your life?

Book of the Month:

The Art of Possibility by Benjamin Zander and Rosamund Stone Zander

Powerful Questions of the Month:

How do you honor balance in your life?
Where would you like to create more balance?

Quote of the Month:

I discovered the middle path
Of stillness within speed,
Calmness within fear,
And I held it longer
And quieter than ever before.
~ Steve McKinney

Challenge of the Month:

Notice your tendencies towards extremes. Notice when you feel yourself swinging back and forth between polarities. Find the still point and seek balance. Be aware of the choices you are making…when they bring you balance and when they take you away from it. From this new awareness, challenge yourself to consciously choose BALANCE.

Assessment of the Month:

Extreme Self Care program. Send an e-mail to sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com with Extreme Self Care assessment as the subject and I will send you this assessment. It may seem odd to offer something “extreme” in the name of balance. My guess is that most of us are not so good at self-care and that “extreme” will evolve into balanced.

September 8, 2006 is Complimentary Call-In Day. Call ASAP to reserve your 30 minute time slot. Complimentary Coaching on this day is open to existing and potential clients.

Friday, July 28, 2006

August. It is hot and sticky, even here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The corn will be ready soon and we have been eating out of our garden for most of the summer. What gifts does August hold for us? Often, it is the last month of summer vacation. It holds the promise of another trip to the beach or pool, a few more lazy mornings, and the sound of children playing. I wonder what August has promised you.

Book of the Month:

10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace by Wayne Dyer

Powerful Question of the Month:

What are you willing to promise yourself this month?

Quote of the Month:

If there is light in the soul,
there will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person,
there will be harmony in the house.
If there is harmony in the house,
there will be order in the nation.
IF there is order in the nation,
there will be peace in the world.
~ Chinese Proverb

Challenge of the Month:

A big part of coaching for many people is Accountability. At the end of each session, many coaches ask their clients what they want to be held accountable for and how. What do you want to be held accountable for? What promises are you ready to make to yourself? Who can you ask to be your witness? How will this serve you?

Tool of the Month:

Accountability. This month, make a list of promises to yourself that you want to keep. E-mail the list to sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com. I will follow up with a reply e-mail at the end of the month, asking you how have honored your promises to yourself.

August 25th is Complimentary Call-In Day. Call ASAP to reserve your 30 minute time slot. Complimentary Coaching on this day is open to existing and potential clients.

Saturday, July 01, 2006

July is the month when the United States of America celebrates its Freedom. It is the time for parades, ice cream cones, fireworks, sparklers, and celebration. Whether or not you celebrate a National Holiday, you can celebrate something every day. Celebration is Gratitude on steroids! So, crank up the volume on your happiness. Dance with wild abandon. Drink up the warmth of the Sun. And connect with those you love.

Book of the Month:
Oh the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss

Powerful Questions of the Month:
What can I celebrate in this moment?
Where can I embrace more freedom in my life?

Quotes of the Month:
“Freedom is that instant between when someone tells you to do something and when you decide how to respond.”
By Jeffrey Borenstein

“Man is free at the moment he wishes to be.”
By Voltaire

Challenge of the Month:
Freedom. What is Freedom? What does it mean to be free? Where are you holding yourself back? How will you begin to free yourself? Hold this thought of freedom during the month of July. Pay attention to where you feel constriction and tension. Notice when you feel uninhibited, natural, free. As your fine tune your awareness, you will begin to see patterns and make connections. “Ahh, this leads to a feeling a freedom.” Keep track of your findings and use the powers of deliberate creation that you learned last month to manifest more freedom in your life! Then, go out and celebrate!

Tool of the Month:
Journal of Inquiry. For a list of ideas and start up inquiry questions, send an e-mail to sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com. Current clients may schedule a complimentary 30 minute coaching session around this tool. Potential clients may use their complimentary session to be coached around this tool.

July 28th is Complimentary Call-In Day. Call ASAP to reserve your 30 minute time slot. Complimentary Coaching on this day is open to existing and potential clients.

June is the month when Summer officially begins! It is a lush time of green grass, growing gardens, and blooming flowers! Take a walk outside and feel the energy of creation…the aliveness in the world! Let yourself bask in the sunshine and soak up the light!

Book of the Month:
Ask and it is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks
This is a book about deliberately creating what you want in your life.

Powerful Questions of the Month: What am I ready to create in my life? What do I need to believe about myself in order to create this? What do I need to believe about the world in order to create this? What’s holding me back? What will move me forward? Am I willing to commit to creating a life I believe in?

Quotes of the Month:
“Man’s main task is to give birth to himself.” –Erich Fromm

Challenge of the Month:
Make a list of all the things you’d like to create in your life: more money, a fabulous relationship, a healthy body, a job you love, a home where beauty and order preside, and anything else that is calling to you. Now, spend a moment reading through the list and pay attention to how you feel about each item on it. Which items practically leap off the page at you? Ask yourself the Powerful Questions around this potential creation. If you are still wanting to commit to creating this, list the steps you will need to take in order to align yourself with this creation vision you now have. Make an imaginary line on the floor…write what it is you want to create on a piece of paper and set it on the other side of this imaginary line. Know that when you cross this line, you are moving from what is possible to what you are committed to creating and allowing in your life. When you are ready, cross the line.

Tool of the Month: What People Want Most

Send an e-mail to sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com. Current clients may schedule a complimentary 45 minute coaching session around this month’s assessment. Potential clients may use their complimentary session to be coached around this assessment.

June 16th is Complimentary Call-In Day. Call ASAP to reserve your 30 minute time slot. Complimentary Coaching on this day is open to existing and potential clients.

May is the month of weddings, apple blossoms, green grass, and sunshine. What is ready to bloom in your life? What tiny buds need encouragement to unfold?

Book of the Month:
Your Heart’s Desire by Sonia Choquette
This is a book about attracting what you want in your life and allowing it to unfold.

Powerful Questions of the Month:
What is my heart’s desire?
What am I willing to say “yes” to in order to follow it?
What am I willing to say “no” to in order to follow it?

Quotes of the Month:
“There comes a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom” --Anais Nin

Challenge of the Month:
Allow yourself to open to the possibility of receiving your heart’s desires! Every morning, ask what your heart’s desire is for that day. Then, ask what you need to say “yes” and “no” to in order to create a “dream come true” day for yourself.

Assessment of the Month:
101 Relationship Questions

Send an e-mail to sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com. Current clients may schedule a complimentary 45 minute coaching session around this month’s assessment. Potential clients may use their complimentary session to be coached around this assessment.

April Fools Day reminds us of the gifts of laughter, fun, and joyful play!! In what ways might we carry a bit of this through all the days of this month?

Book of the Month:
SARK’s Journal and PlayBook: A Place to Dream while Awake

Powerful Questions of the Month:
What activities connect me to my Center of Joy?
If Joy is my goal today, how will this shape my attitudes, beliefs, and feelings?

i thank You God for most this amazing day:
for the leaping greenly spirit of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;
and for everything which is natural
which is infinite
which is YES
~e.e. cummings

As joy—powerfully—strengthened my back,
As joy—tremendously—took off the pressure,
As joy—gloriously—warmed my heart,
I raised like a bird from my shackles
And flew peacefully over the sea of my troubles.
~ Ingrid Kiehl-Krau

Resource of the Month:

Spring Greetings! This is a wonderful time to re-evaluate your goals, check-in with yourself, and let go of what isn’t working. We’re in the final month of the first quarter of 2006. How are you doing so far? What would support you in the weeks to come?

Book of the Month:
Eat that Frog by Brian Tracy

Powerful Questions of the Month:
What areas of my life could use a little spring cleaning? What’s one step I can take towards improvement in each of these areas?

You might want to write these questions on an index card or two. Keep the cards by your bed so you can start and end each day with this framework. Put cards in other “happy reminder places” such as; on the refrigerator, in your wallet or purse, taped to the steering wheel of your car, on the front door, and on your bathroom mirror. See if you can take one step each day towards cleaning up your life.

Every day this month, do the most important thing you need to do that day first! This is from the Eat that Frog book. Each week you can set new goals. At night you can evaluate and plan for the next day. If you do this one thing each day, you’ll not only be moving towards accomplishing your goals; you’ll also be creating a new habit to increase your productivity and/or follow-through. Give yourself permission to use this challenge in a way that serves you. You may want to commit to the same thing each morning such as a meditation, exercise, or personal hygiene routine. You might want to work for a certain amount of time each day on a specific project for work, home improvement, or a hobby. You choose what is most important to you for this month, for a week, or for that specific day.

Happy February! It’s the month of love, romance, and random acts of kindness. If love really is “what it’s all about”, then how can I do everything I already do in a more loving way? And who do I need to become in order to embrace Love as the Ultimate Intention? My loving wish for you is that your life be overflowing with love and goodness. What you focus on tends to grow! Focus on love and experience the joy and connection it creates. Love is about service to others AND love is about generosity and forgiveness to ourselves as well. What loving thoughts are you sending yourself each day?

Book of the Month:
The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron

Powerful Questions of the Month:
“How will I welcome love into my life today? How will I share my love today?”

Quotes of the Month:

“To love oneself is the beginning of a lifetime romance”
--Oscar Wilde

“If you have love in your life, it can make up for a great many things you lack. If you don’t have it, no matter what else there is, it is not enough” --Author Unknown

Challenge of the Month:
Buy yourself a blank book/journal that you love. Title it: Things that bring me pleasure or My Happiness Book or What I really love or anything that sounds right to you. Make at least 5 entries each day…it’s okay to repeat. At the end of each week, re-read through what you’ve written and commit to doing/having/being more of what you love during the following week. By the end of the month, you will have the start of a roadmap to a life of LOVE.

Assessment of the Month:
Irresistible Attraction Program
Send an e-mail to sarah@treeoflifecoaching.com. Assessment in the subject line and specify Irresistible Attraction Program in your e-mail. I will send the Irresistible Attraction Program as an attachment. Current clients may schedule a complimentary 45 minute coaching session around this month’s assessment. Powerful Question of the Month:
What one daily or weekly habit, if I started it today and kept it the entire year would make the biggest positive difference in my life?

Quote of the Month:
“Man’s main task is to give birth to himself.” From Erich Fromm

Poem of the Month:
I will not die an unlived life
I will not live in fear of falling
Or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
To allow my living to open me,
To make me less afraid,
More accessible,
To loosen my heart
Until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance,
To live so that what came to me as seed,
Goes to the next as blossome,
And that which came to me as blossom,
Goes on as fruit.

By Dawna Markova

Challenge of the Month:
How do I start each day? How do I want to start each day? For the first week, simply pay attention to how you start each day and what this manifests in your life. For the second week, begin thinking about possible ways to enhance your life by how you start each day. For example, have you thought or read about starting the day with yoga, meditation, or quiet time? Maybe you’d like to create that new habit each morning? In the third week, start experimenting…try out one or two of the possibilities you’ve generated the previous week. In the fourth week, evaluate which possibilities worked the best for you, be creative, continue experimenting, commit to one for a specific period of time, re-evaluate, find a morning habit/ritual/routine that serves you, your values, your goals, and your intentions.
